SnehaSparsham (Old age Protection)

Old age is the later part of life. the period of life after youth and middle age. This is an age of deterioration. it is expected that by 2050, 2 billion people i.e. over 20 per cent of the world population will be 60 year or older. After the 70th anniversary of the universal declaration of human rights, present generation has to reaffirm the commitment to promote the full and equal enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedom by older generations.

National Service Scheme under the Directorate of Higher secondary Education is giving at most importance to the care of the old age people. By visiting the old aged persons in their residence andin the old age homes, the younger generation will be in a positionto realize the real situation of the old aged and will build a sense of compassion towards them.

Student volunteers are engaging in cleaning, gardening and other activities in the old age homes. They also make use of the traditional knowledge from the old aged for their personality development and also for unit level activities.
